Kundalini Yoga is a technology for awareness. It is for the householder, the ordinary person living in the world, to experience increased awareness and create a better life. This practice helps you to energize, awaken, purify and heal yourself from the emotional, physical and spiritual damage of the past. With a blend of breath, movement, mantra and meditation, the practice relieves stress, promotes positive habits and develops intuition to recognize what is real and important to you. This technology balances the glandular system and strengthens the nervous system to consciously ride the flow of life.

Every Kundalini class combines rhythmic movement, breath, mantra and music. This promotes mindful awareness, physical flexibility and builds inner strength. The experience open pathways to change and healing to help you live a more conscious life. Self-imposed limitations and blocks are removed and your creative potential is available to you.

Class begins by chanting a mantra to connect to your inner wisdom, "Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo." After a warm up or two, we dive into the Kriya or sequence of exercises to gain a specific effect. Then relax deeply to the sounds of the symphonic gong, releasing blocks, reducing tension and stimulating circulation in the body. We come back slowly and finish class with a Kundalini meditation, followed by the Long Time Sun Shine Song.

For established students who want to augment their typical practice with variety, or for students, beginning to advanced, desiring a practice focused on energy and awareness.
There are different ways to focus the mind, and many points of concentration that can lead the mind to a place of clarity and tranquility. When the names and forms of God are the tools of meditation, it becomes bhakti marga or the path to realization through the adoration of the Divine. The Thursday evening meditation class will explore sounds (the Goddess), kirtan (the singing of the names of God), mantra japa (the repetition of mantra), and murti (focus on the personified form) as ways of quieting and clearing the vrittis in order to witness the always-present still point that is our inner truth.
Our Sunday morning meditation is a time and a space for you to stop for a moment, to catch your breath and to remember your essential nature, which is deep peace, love, compassion, strength and power. Insight Meditation, or Vipassana, is the ultimate expression of Socrates' dictum, "know thyself." It's based on the Buddha's original teaching that the cause of suffering can actually be erased when we see our True nature. This teaching means that our happiness does not depend on manipulating the external world, it depends on seeing ourselves clearly, as we really are. It's a method for purifying the mind of the mental factors that cause suffering.
Loving Kindness Meditation is aimed at breaking down barriers and restoring compassion and kindness towards others, including ourselves! Our Wednesday evening meditation is led by Perennial founder, Meg Sirchio Groves, and is designed to help you explore how love is at the core of your Being and how forgiveness, gratitude and generosity can and will flow from this space when we remember this Truth. By reconnecting with the love that we are we can affect the energy that flows through us and from us so we're more equipped to navigate our relationships with other beings and all of creation. Join Meg for some insight, inspiration, laughter and meditation as we take a deeper dive into our true nature which is LOVE!
Mindfulness is a quality we already possess. It can also be cultivated through practice. Mindfulness is often described as the act of paying attention on purpose, deeply, and without judgment to whatever arises in the present moment. By doing so, we live more fully, rather than feeling stuck in "automatic pilot." Our Monday evening meditation class is designed to develop the skill of paying attention to our inner and outer experiences with acceptance, patience, and compassion. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the volume of research surrounding mindfulness practice and how it helps us to live healthier, happier lives. Join us!
